Giraffe Crochet Tutorial & Free Pattern

MATERIALS
- 2,5mm crochet hook (You can use a smaller or bigger crochet hook depending on your yarn)
- Yellow, white or ivory yarn and brown yarn for the spots (I used Himalaya Dolphin Baby)
- Yarn needle for sewing
- Fiber fill
- Scissors
- Stitch marker
- 10mm safety eyes
- Pins
STITCHES
- st = stitch
- sc = single crochet
- inc = increase (two single crochet in one stitch)
- dec = decrease (crochet two stitches together)
- ch = chain
- F/O = fasten off
- sl.st.= slip stitch
LEGS
Start with brown yarn.
R1: magic circle with 6sc (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: *sc, inc* repeat around (18)
R4 – R5: sc around (18)
R6: sc in the next 3st, dec 6 times, sc in the next 3st (12)
R7: sc around (12)
Change to yellow yarn.
R8 – R15: sc around (12)
Sl.st. and F/O at the end of the first leg but don’t F/O at the end of the second leg, because we are going to proceed with crocheting.
When you’re done with making the legs get the second leg in your right hand and the first leg in your left hand.
Make 7 additional stitches in the second leg (in your right hand) and connect to the other leg on the 2nd stitch after the F/O.
Continue making sc around the first leg and connect the first leg to the second one. Continue making sc till the end of the row.
R16: sc around (24)
This round completes the join now and it’s where the next round begins.
Put some stuffing in the legs, but do not fill them to the brim.
BODY & HEAD
R17- R25: sc around (24)

Stuff the legs and body firmly but consider that we are going to keep crocheting so don’t overstuff it.

EARS

Make 4 spots and sew them randomly on the body.
MOUTH
Use ivory color yarn.

Sew the mouth to the face as you start on the line of the eyes. Before you close the mouth put fiberfill.
