LEGS
Start with brown yarn.
R1: magic circle with 6sc (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: “sc, inc” repeat around (18)
R4-5: sc around (18)
R6: sc in the next 3st, dec 6 times, sc in the next 3st (12)
R7-15: sc around (12)
Slip stitch and fasten off at the end of the first leg but don’t fasten off at the end of the second leg, because we are going to proceed crocheting.
BODY
At the end of Round 15 on the 2nd leg, put sc in each of the next 6 stitches. This is important because you need the legs straight when you join them. Round 16 joins the legs together and starts the body part.
R16: chain 1 and make a sc on the other leg. It’s important that the legs face the same direction. Make sc in all stitches around the leg and when you get to the chain make a sc in the st. sc in the remaining stitches of the next leg and sc again on the chain (you will have sc on both sides of the chain) (26)
This round completes the join now and it’s where the next round begins.
Put some stuffing in the legs, but do not fill them to the brim.
R17-27: sc around (26)
R28: “sc in the next 3st, dec“ repeat around, sc in the last st (21)
R29: sc around (21)
Stuff the legs and body firmly but consider that we are going to keep crocheting so don’t overstuff it.
HEAD
R30: “sc in the next 2st, dec“, put sc in the last st (16)
R31: sc around (16)
R32: sc, inc (24)
R33: “sc in the next 2st, inc“ (32)
R34: “sc in the next 3st, inc“ (40)
R35-38: sc around (40)
R39: “sc in the next 3st, dec” (32)
R40-41: sc around (32)
R42: “sc in the next 2st, dec“ (24)
R43: sc around (24)
Grab the plastic eyes and place them low on the face. I’ve placed them between 36th and 37th row. Make sure the eyes are far away from one another, otherwise,
your bear is going to look goofy. I placed the eyes with 8st between them.
R44: “sc, dec” (16)
Put fiberfill in the head and stuff it firmly.
R45: “sc, dec” (11)
R46: dec around
F/O and weave the yarn tail into the head.

R3: “sc in the 5st, inc“ (14)
